About Dalcini

Our Mission:

To make healthy, sustainable living simpler by creating durable, non-toxic products that protect people and the planet.

Our Purpose:

At DALCINI™, we believe the products you use every day should support your health, not compromise it, and should leave a lighter footprint on the planet.

That's why we create durable, toxicant-free, stainless steel products designed to help people make healthier choices for themselves, their families, and future generations.

By replacing single-use plastics and short-lived alternatives with safe, long-lasting stainless steel, we're building a business that serves people, communities, and the environment.

Our Values

Health First

We believe the products people use every day should be safe. That's why we are committed to creating products free from plastic, coatings, paint, and other potentially leachable materials.

Sustainability Through Circularity

We design products for durability, reusability, and recyclability. By keeping materials in use longer and supporting their recovery at end of life, we help reduce waste and conserve resources.

Integrity in Everything

We do what we say we will do. Transparency, accountability, and honesty guide our decisions, partnerships, and communications.

Business for Good

We believe business can be a force for positive change. We balance purpose with profit and consider the impact of our decisions on people, communities, and the environment.

Inclusion Drives Innovation

We believe diverse perspectives create stronger ideas, better businesses, and more resilient communities. We foster respect, opportunity, and belonging in all that we do.

With an extensive career in pharmaceutical sciences spanning decades, Nita Tandon has delved into numerous studies published in leading medical journals. Her growing concern stemmed from consistent research findings underscoring the detrimental impact of Bisphenol A (BPA) on human health, particularly affecting fetuses, infants, and young children.

In 2009, Health Canada officially recognized BPA as a toxic substance to human health and the environment, subsequently implementing a ban. Following suit in 2012, the US Food and Drug Administration also enforced a similar prohibition. While these regulatory actions were commendable initial steps, Nita remained troubled by their limited scope, applying solely to baby bottles. BPA continued to be prevalent in various food storage containers, bags, and wraps.

The emergence of "BPA-free" products flooded the market, ostensibly reassuring consumers of safety. However, studies revealed a mere substitution of BPA with similar chemicals, ultimately proven to be equally unsafe (UCalgary 2015).

Moreover, the consequential cycle of waste from households to landfills and oceans posed significant environmental and health risks. Microplastics and leached chemicals finding their way back into the food chain raised an alarming concern. Nita recognized the imperative need for change in addressing these pervasive issues.

Understanding that overall health is inseparable from the health of the environment, Nita embarked on a quest for non-leaching, user-friendly, easy-to-clean food storage solutions with minimal environmental impact. Unsuccessful in finding suitable options, she took matters into her own hands.

In 2015, Nita introduced DALCINI™ Stainless, a groundbreaking, award-winning, values-driven company prioritizing people and the planet. Dedicated to human and environmental health, DALCINI™ Stainless specializes in crafting durable, non-leaching, and infinitely recyclable housewares.
