TARIFFS

Dalcini Stainless is a Canadian company, owned and operated in Canada, with products manufactured in India.

Summary of the US/CAN Trade Changes

For Canadian customers, there is No Change.

For US customers:

Tariffs: The US has announced a 25% Tariff on steel and aluminum goods imported from Canada to go into effect on March 4, 2025.  Dalcini Stainless goods are manufactured in India, and are not subject to the 25% tariffs.  We will continue to monitor and update as more information becomes available.

Duty:  The duty for our classification of products is 2%, with an $800 de minimis threshold, which means duty is exempt on imports below $800, and charged on amounts greater than $800,  There is a proposed cancellation of the $800 de minimis rule, which would mean ALL U.S. orders, regardless of value, would be subject to a 2% duty. For example, a $20 purchase by a US customer would incur a $0.40 duty. No decisions have been made. We will continue to monitor and update as new information becomes available.

Tariff vs. Duty: What's the Difference?

Tariff: A tax on imported goods, imposed by the government, often used to protect domestic industries or as a trade policy tool. The cost incurred is in the country imposing the tariff.

Duty: A fee charged on specific imported goods based on classification and value, applied regardless of trade policies, paid by the customer/importer.
